Error on install, can't activate ChimpExpress was created by arepb

Hi, I'm trying to activate ChimpExpress (downloaded the plugin from my WP dashboard) and I am getting this error

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /nfs/c06/h04/mnt/95159/domains/dev.dailypeppermint.com/html/wp-content/plugins/chimpexpress/chimpexpress.php on line 38

Hello,

Your site seems to be running on PHP4. ChimpExpress only works on PHP5. Please contact your host to upgrade your PHP version.

I am getting the same error on install and I verified through godaddy with a PHP version of 5.2. Is there a fix to get this working.
